TESLIM FOLARIN: AN ACCIDENTAL POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDER WITH APC REBIRTH!

Good day the great people of Oyo Central Senatorial District and Oyo State both home and abroad.
Our team don't really get fulfillment in extraying the odd past of any personality as Yoruba would say, "kosi eni ti a ki owo bo inu idi re ti ko'ni run" meaning: there's no one you insert your finger into his/her anus without feeling an odd smell. However, some people, especially political office holders have lived so recklessly as if, there's no tomorrow for them or their generation to still seek the collective mandate of the people which may not be a freebie as they have once benefited and unduly exploited the opportunities that came their ways hitherto.

According to Wikipedia and common knowledge here in Oyo State, only Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin has had the opportunity to have found his way to the red chamber twice with first entry at the age of 39 years.
However, the people are not unaware of the fact that, it wasn't that Senator Folarin has had any notable contributions to the wellbeing of the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District or even his acclaimed local government of Ona-Ara which would have served as the impetus for people to willingly subject their political will to the then Mr Folarin but only for the super political influence of the then kingmaker and Generalissimo of Ibadan politics, the late Alhaji Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu that enforced him on Oyo Central as there wasn't a free and fair PDP party primary elections for Senatorial candidates at Cocoa Research Institute (CRIN), Podo, Ibadan in 2003.

As a result of encumbrances and unmerited political favour that precipitated the emergence of Senator Teslim Folarin into the National assembly, he performed woefully according to people's verdict.

As if the worst had not happened, the unfortunate history repeated itself in 2007 when Senator Teslim was still imposed on Oyo Central for the second time knowing fully well the odd events of process flaws that characterized our electoral processes back then. At this second time in the Red Chamber, Senator Teslim had another rare opportunity to have been elected as the Majority Leader of the 6th Nigerian Senate. At this second coming, people seemingly but erroneously believed that,  he was more matured and experienced at 43years. Perhaps, he would make the good use of his accidental emergence and perform better but rather, he stood firmly against the creation of Ibadan state, autonomy of local government, petroleum reform bill, restructuring and better resource control, improved higher education budgeting as well as other issues that would have benefited the common good of his constituents and people of Nigeria at large but rather concentrated on amassing wealth for himself and allegedly distributing same to his Godfather as confirmed by him (Senator Folarin) at several fora.

Then that the super power of Senate Majority Leader has fell on Senator Teslim Folarin, he then became part of the cabal in Nigerian political class that fooled Nigerians on the state of health of their own democratically elected servant leader, President Shehu Musa Yar'adua who eventually died in highly controversial situation and that also made the then Vice President Goodluck Jonathan irrelevant in a government he's deputising. The consequential effects of this event almost tore Nigeria apart except for the saving grace of God.

The next thing the power drunk Senator Teslim Folarin wanted, was to rule Oyo State by all means. Albeit,
another wide-scale politically sponsored violences erupted from the once most peaceful pace setter state of Oyo. There were many killings. One of those killings that easily comes to mind was that of the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyo State, Alhaji Lateef Salako aka Eleweomo.

In preparation for the Peoples Democratic Party's congresses which preceded the choice of the Governorship flag bearer of the party in Oyo State. Dateline 30th December 2010 an incident happened in Oyo State which affected the fortunes of PDP till date in that state. The seeming uncontrollable crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State got to the climax that day as the dismissed Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Oyo State, Alhaji Lateef Salako aka "Eleweomo" and two others were killed in a bloody crisis that erupted during the rescheduled congress of the party. If at all, we as a people have forgotten, what about the kids rendered fatherless, wives rendered widowed, parents rendered childless, the homes broken and families affected by these violences.

With much a do, Senator Teslim Folarin still lost the Gubernatorial ticket of PDP and worked against the fortunes of the party then. His frustration went as far as uprooting the electric transformer he reluctantly gave to the people of Ona-Ara Local Government as their own benefit of accidental, mistaken and wasteful 8 good years as a Senator.

With all the self-acclaimed achievements of the ruling APC in Oyo State especially in security and infrastructure face-lift, how could the party field unpopular candidates that have lost touch with the people in many areas of the state. Well, the power drunk constituted authority and koseleri Gov Ajimobi still thinks he has the winning magic but he himself is getting drowned already with his high-handedness and autocratic ruling as if Oyo State belongs to his immediate family alone.

It is a pity that, as the APC always call themselves the only HOLY and innocent party in Nigeria, the party still chose a paper-weight like Teslim Folarin with his zero-impacting political life as their candidate for Oyo Central in the coming election.
But, this shouldn't surprise anyone because the National chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole said that, no matter how corrupt or evil opposition members maybe, once they join the APC, they will become holy and innocent immediately.
Could APC alleged cleansing or rebirth of Senator Folarin do the magic?
If the party has forgotten the odd political trends of Folarin, the great people of Oyo State can NEVER forget and would retire him politically on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Senator Teslim Folarin nicknamed "Senator Mo n bo" (i.e unnecessarily posting communities requesting developmental support) accidentally served the good people of Oyo Central in 2003 - 2011 as a Senator thinking as if there is no tomorrow and this led him to failures in previous elections where the good people of Oyo State retaliated by rejecting him for his failure to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Oyo Central during his tenures as a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria.

Now, APC is shouting next level in the state. It is crystal clear to state that: it is next level to abject poverty. They are demonstrating this by sharing Kuli-Kuli, Gari, Ground nut and money that cannot sustain economic fortune of anyone at campaign rallies.

Therefore, we strongly appeal to the good people of Oyo Central to shine their eyes very very well and REJECT TESLIM FOLARIN / APC VEHEMENTLY!!!
If you say APC is planning to rig the election, you can only allow them if you fail to come out to say capital NO to such impunity. Vote en masse for better candidate/party of your choice that is experienced with outstanding antecedent of performance as the next Senator of Oyo Central Senatorial District.

Please note, rigging is only possible where a candidate is popular or majority of the people allow it. But note, when the oppressed fail to challenge the oppressors, they become suppressed!

We therefore call on the good people of Oyo Central to avoid the mistakes of the past.
Vote for personalities that have history of monumental political achievements, care for the less privileged, astute community service as well as passionate commitment to improving human welfare on Saturday 23rd February, 2019 as the SENATOR of Oyo Central Senatorial District and allow everyone to benefit from our communal resources towards achieving prosperity in the nooks and crannies of our land.

A word is enough for the wise!

Signed;
Jacob Olu Enitan
